    Where are you located? top

I am located in Arvonia, Virginia.

What breed puppies do you sell? top

I sell purebred Yorkshire Terriers and purebred Shih-Tzu's. No, I do not ever mix the breeds or sell mixed breed or "designer breed" puppies.

Do you sell Teacup, T-cup or Miniature Yorkies? top

First, let me clarify. There is only one Yorkshire Terrier classification, the Yorkshire Terrier is a toy breed, and there is no such breed classification of Teacup, T-cup, or Miniature Yorkshire Terrier. The names Teacup, T-Cup and Miniature have been added as a means of describing their size, which in most cases indicates an adult weight of less than 5 pounds. I do sometimes have smaller size puppies available, but availability varies from litter to litter. There is no way to guarantee the exact adult weight of a puppy, I can only estimate based on experience, past litters, size of the parents and puppies current size and/or weight. My Yorkshire Terrier puppies do conform to the AKC breed standard of no more than 7 lbs.

Do you sell Imperial Shih Tzu? top

First, let me clarify, there is only one Shih Tzu classification. Imperial refers to pedigree and adult size of 9 pounds or less. Yes, I adore the smaller Imperial Shih Tzu and yes, I do raise Imperial puppies.

I place my Shih Tzu into three (3) categories.
    • Standard - 9 to 16 pounds at maturity
    • Small Standard - 9 to 12 pounds at maturity
    • Imperial - 9 pounds or less at maturity

What forms of payment do you accept? top

I accept PayPal for deposits. CASH ONLY for final payment.

What is the required deposit amount to hold a puppy until he/she is ready? top

    Required deposits are as follows:
    • Puppies priced $700 and over - $300
    • Puppies priced less than $700 - $200

Balance must be paid by an agreed upon date, based on when the puppy will be naturally weaned and ready to leave his/her mother.

    Conditions of placing a deposit:

    • I must speak with the potential new owner via telephone. I will NOT sell or accept a deposit on any of my puppies just by emailing or texting. I am only interested in people purchasing a pup from me who will love and care for them with affection and true devotion and I reserve the right to refuse and/or cancel sale to anyone I do not feel would provide a healthy and happy environment for my puppies!
    • Deposits are non-refundable unless puppy were to develop an illness or disorder while in my care.
    • No puppy is considered sold until a deposit has been placed and received. Puppies are sold on a first come first serve basis. I do not hold puppies without a deposit. I invoice via Paypal and the deposit can be sent immediately. Puppy will only be held for a period of 24 hours. If the deposit is not received in this amount of time, the desired puppy will be placed up for adoption again. I often have several inquiries on the same puppy therefore after 24 hours I go to the next inquiry.

What happens after I place a deposit? top

After placing a deposit and securing the puppy of your choice, I will provide bi-weekly updates, pictures and possibly an occasional video of your puppy. I will also be available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Remember, I am always available to help before, during, as well as after the sale.

Do you offer stud service? top

No. I do not offer stud service.

At what age do you allow your puppies to leave for their new homes? top

Puppies stay with me until they have received their first AND second puppy vaccines, been thoroughly examined by my veterinarian, and are well-adjusted after the transition of weaning. This is usually between the age of 10-12 weeks, most commonly at 11 weeks.

When determining an age and pick-up date for my puppies I take several things into consideration. I look at the overall socialization maturity of the puppy, when the puppy or litter of puppies were completely weaned, making sure they are eating and digesting solid food well, the puppies weight and also that they are growing at a healthy rate.

I never let any of my puppies go before 10 weeks of age! The canine socialization period is a very important stage of development of the puppy. What they learn from their litter-mates during this period greatly influences the rest of their lives. During this stage the puppies learn bite inhibition and canine socialization skills that are critical skills for a dog.

Yes, I do realize some breeders allow their puppies to leave at 8 weeks, and that is their choice. I however do not feel that a small breed puppy is ready to leave their litter-mates and be introduced to a whole new environment at only a very short time after weaning. Large breed puppies wean earlier and develop quicker than small breed puppies, hence the overall lifespan of a small breed is longer, so where a Lab will be ready at 8 weeks, a Yorkshire or Shih- Tzu is not.

I have received lots of excuses from potential buyers why they should be able to get their puppy sooner. Everything from "I'm experienced with puppies", to "The puppy is for a birthday or Christmas gift", or "We're too excited to wait that long". Honestly, none of this matters to me. My ultimate concern is for the well-being of my puppies! Allowing them time to develop physically, mentally and socially creates less stress, easier transition, and a makes for a much happier and healthier puppy.

Do you give a written health guarantee? top

Yes, most definitely! I provide a written contract with 2 year health guarantee, and detailed health record (including vaccinations and de-wormings received), with each puppy I sell. My puppies are also thoroughly examined by my veterinarian before leaving, and a veterinarian health report is provided for each individual puppy.

I understand buying a puppy can sometimes be a scary thing, and I assure you I will have done everything possible to provide you with a healthy, quality puppy.

What does your health guarantee cover? top

My pups are guaranteed to be in excellent health when they leave my home, and free from any serious infectious disease or illness for a period of ten (10) days from date of purchase. I also guarantee my pups until one (2) years of age against life threatening congenital or hereditary defects. To validate health guarantee, buyer must had their new puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within three (3) business days from the date puppy leaves my home, and all vaccinations, health exams, etc. must be kept current.

I make every effort to assure the quality and health of every puppy I sell, however, a puppy is a living being and certain health risk potentially exist in any given puppy, which are beyond anyone's ability to predict, control or diagnose. My health guarantee does not cover injuries, illness due to environmental factors, or problems the puppy may develop due to accidents, negligence, and/or abuse by the new owner.

Are registration papers included in the price of your puppies? top

All pups are priced and sold without registration, (otherwise known as "pet price") Limited AKC registration (no breeding) is available upon request for an additional fee.

Full AKC registration (breeding and showing rights) may be available but will only be given to approved breeders for an additional fee. I will not give Full AKC registration on any puppy that I would not consider "breeding quality".

Do you give Full AKC breeding rights with your puppies? top

All pups are priced and sold without registration, (otherwise known as "pet price") All of my parents are AKC registered and Limited AKC registration (no breeding) is available upon request for an additional fee. Full AKC registration (breeding and showing rights) may be available but will only be given to approved breeders for an additional fee. I will not give Full AKC registration on any puppy that I would not consider "breeding quality".

Do you ship your puppies? top

Safe and affordable Puppy Nanny delivery is available anywhere in the U.S. for an additional fee based on your location. Please contact me for more information or price quote. I do NOT ship any of my puppies via airline cargo. The only shipping and delivery option I offer is through one of my trusted puppy nannies where your new furbaby will receive the utmost care while traveling safely in the passenger area of the plane.

Will you deliver or can you meet me halfway? top

Depending on circumstances, including my schedule and distance, delivery may be an option. This is something that will need to be discussed on a case by case basis.

    Are your prices negotiable? top

I price my puppies individually depending on conformation, quality, desirable features, gender and color. A HUGE amount of time, effort and money are put into raising healthy quality puppies. I do my research and feel the prices I'm asking are very reasonable and reflect the quality puppies I am offering, so prices are NON-negotiable.

Will you hold a puppy for me until I get paid? top

I am sorry, but I do not hold puppies without a deposit. I lost count a long time ago of the many "promises to pay" from individuals that did not follow through, so it is no longer a courtesy I am willing to extend. Not only does it cause lost opportunities to sell the puppy to another buyer, but is also very rude and inconsiderate.

Male or female, which should I get? top

I get asked this question all the time, and quite honestly one gender is not any better than the other. Both are loving, playful and affectionate, yet females do tend to be a bit more independent. In most cases, if neutered EARLY, males will not mark. Males should be neutered at a young age, somewhere around 6 months or the age recommended by your veterinarian, to deter development of the leg-lifting (marking) habit.

Do you name your puppies before selling them? top

I do give them temporary identifying names in order to distinguish one puppy from another, but of course their new families are welcomed to name their new puppy anything they wish.
